Portugal are the reigning champions after seeing off France in 2016 but who are the frontrunners to lift the trophy next time?

Euro 2020 is just around the corner and it promises to be an exceptional tournament.

There were no automatic qualifying berths for this tournament due to a variety of different countries set to host matches, meaning every side had to get there in the usual ways of winning the group or a play-off.

So, who are the contenders for the crown? Goal takes a look at the odds.

Who are the favourites to win Euro 2020?

England are 5/1 favourites with bet365  to win the European Championship for the first time ever after finishing fourth at the World Cup in 2018.

Spain are available at  7/1 to become the most successful team at the European Championship by winning their fourth title.

La Roja won the competition in 2008 and 2012, becoming the first side to retain the title in the process, and will be aiming to make up for a disappointing showing at the 2018 World Cup.

The Azzurri have never missed consecutive major tournaments and had few problems qualifying for this with 10 wins from 10 games as they search for a first continental title since 1968.

Netherlands failed to qualify for the last two major tournaments but are  12/1  to win Euro 2020 after seemingly turning around their fortunes.

The Oranje won their Nations League group and then reached this competition by taking 19 points from a possible 24, although the loss of Virgil van Dijk is a significant blow to their chances.
