Two electricity staff arrested for vandalizing and and stealing power cables in Adamawa

Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects over alleged vandalization and theft of energy cables.


Spokesperson of the command, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, who disclosed this in an announcement on Saturday, March 13, mentioned the infamous vandals are auxialiary employees of the Yola Electrical energy Distribution Firm (YEDC), which deployed the cables. 


He mentioned the suspects have been arrested by operatives connected to Yola Division whereas on space patrol alongside Rugange-Njoboliyo highway. 


“The suspects, Idi Wakil, 62, and Babangida Bello, 54, all residents of Madumari ward, Yola South native authorities, has been vandalising, stealing and promoting out the armored electrical energy cables that connects Njoboliyo and different villages from Yola thus ensuing to energy outage in these areas, inflicting wrongful misplaced to Yola Electrical energy Distribution firm(YEDC) and grongful acquire to themselves,” DSP Nguroje acknowledged. 


The State Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Adamu Alhaji, counseled Officers and Males of Yola Division and members of the group for making it troublesome for criminals of such to flee arrest.
