According to the club’s president Soufiane Souare, the DR Congo player is a performer who can help push their ambitions
Horoya AC of Guinea have reportedly identified Yanga SC midfielder Mukoko Tonombe as their primary target in the upcoming transfer window.
According to Mwanaspoti, Horoya are set to table a huge offer for the DR Congo midfielder who they see as a key man to strengthen their squad.
The Guinean champions are said to have listed Tonombe as their primary transfer target given how he has performed for Timu ya Wannachi since he signed at the beginning of the current season.
The publication further reports Horoya are ready to pay the defensive midfielder a salary that is triple what he gets at the record Tanzanian champions.
He is understood to be on a monthly salary of $3,600 (Tsh6 million) and that means he would be on monthly package in the region of $10,000 should the move happen.
To entice Yanga into letting the prized midfielder leave, it is understood the Guinean giants have offered $200,000 as the sign-on fee. The club is understood to have made a plan of making the first move to sign Tonombe early next week.
“We know Tonombe is a key player at Yanga but is also among the best in his country and that means he is a player that every team that aims bigger would want,” Horoya’s president Soufiane Souare is quoted as saying by Mwanaspoti.
Tonombe’s agent Nestor Mutuale has confirmed they have received many offers for the player including Horoya’s.
“Horoya are just one of the many clubs that have shown real interest in signing Tonombe,” Mutuale told the same publication.
“But for now, it would be too early to speak about the offer because for now, Yanga must deal with that matter.
“We have asked them to find GSM [Yanga’s sponsors] chair Ghalib Mohamed and the club’s chair Mshindo Msolla as they are the men who will make the final decision. My work is only to stand for the interest of the player.”
Tonombe and Tuisila Kisinda have settled in well since arriving at the beginning of the season for the Jangwani giants
Horoya were able to sign Yanga’s then prolific scorer Heritier Makambo in a deal that was reported to be around 70,000 Euros four seasons ago.
