Most of the time when you see streakers on the field at games, they’re caught rather quickly.

But at the Nationals game on Wednesday night, it took quite a lot of time to get to a streaker who went on the field during a rain delay.

Just when it looked like the streaker would be caught, he pulled a savvy move that prolonged his on-field escapades.

When the streaker, who started in the outfield, reached the infield tarp, security was closing in. It was then that he used the tarp as a slip ‘n slide and got to the tarp’s roller tube. He ducked inside, as you can see via 7News DC.

What an ingenious move. While he eventually did have to come out of the tube, the streaker did manage to delay his capture by another minute with that move.

Nationals fans will certainly remember that moment as a high point of Wednesday’s endless rain delay. By 11:35 p.m. ET, the game was suspended until Thursday afternoon with the Nationals leading 3-0.

While those in attendance didn’t get to see the game finish, they did witness one of the best performances by a streaker in quite some time.
