Rivers Police arrest serial rapist who allegedly drugged, raped and robbed young women after luring them on social media

The Rivers State Police Command has paraded a father of 4 recognized as Ibama, for allegedly drugging, raping and robbing younger ladies in Port Harcourt after luring them on relationship websites.

 

The spokesperson of the command, SP Nnamdi Omoni, who paraded the suspect on Thursday, March 11, disclosed that after drugging his victims, Ibama rapes and carts away their valuables.

SP Omoni said that the suspect was arrested after one in all his latest victims noticed him at a preferred grocery store at Ada George, Port Harcourt. The sufferer raised alarm that attracted passersby who apprehended him and handed him over to the Police.

 

“What occurred was that this younger man, Favour Ibama, from Bakana within the Degema Native Authorities Space, is a serial rapist. He was arrested in reference to a number of circumstances of rape dedicated in several resorts,” Omoni defined.

 

“His case is akin to the women David West (a convict) killed in resorts. On this explicit case, he didn’t kill them; he solely drugged, raped and stole their valuables. So, in one of many circumstances, luck ran out on him when one of many victims recognized him at a grocery store and raised the alarm. He was arrested and brought to the Ada George Police Station. In fact he admitted that he really dedicated the offence, however denied raping different ladies as alleged.” he added. 

 

Omoni disclosed that the command has deployed technical intelligence to get well the objects the suspect carted from the women whereas investigation is ongoing.

 

Among the victims who spoke with journalists defined that after days of chatting with the suspect on social media, he booked a date with them in a resort, the place he drugged and raped them.

 

Two of the victims revealed that the suspect transferred N135,000 and N185,000 respectively from their accounts, utilizing telephones.

 

In the meantime, the suspect denied the allegation, claiming that he chatted one Blessing up on Social media and the girl agreed to have intercourse with him if he pays N20,000.
