Residents forced to fetch water from streams as water scarcity causes a keg of water to sell for 250 Naira

Residents of some FCT communities have resorted to fetching water from the streams and rivers as a result of water shortage.

 

The shortage has precipitated a 25-litre keg of water to be offered for 250 Naira.

 

Residents dwelling in Kubwa, Bwari, Dede, Dutse, Kaigini, amongst others, are the worst hit they usually both should patronise water hawkers on the price of 250 Naira per keg or be a part of lengthy queues at public boreholes.

 

The FCT Water Board had final week appealed to residents to persevere pending when restore and upkeep work are carried out on the Usama Dam Therapy Plant.

 

Reacting to the water shortage, Omoyele Sowore quoted the late Fela Kuti’s track, Authentic Undergo Head.
