NSCDC arrests three Oyo State officials for allegedly stealing COVID-19 palliatives

The Nigeria Safety and Civil Protection Corps (NSCDC); Oyo State Command has arrested three officers of the Oyo state Highway Visitors Administration Company (OYRTMA) for allegedly stealing 70 baggage of maize meant for distribution as COVID-19 palliatives. 

 

The Commandant of NSCDC within the state, Iskilu Akinsanya, disclosed this whereas parading the suspects on the Command headquarter in Agodi, Ibadan on Thursday, March 25.

Akinsanya stated the suspects had been arrested by the NSCDC officers on Wednesday at about 9pm on the Oyo State Secretariat whereas loading the stolen gadgets which had been a part of the Covid-19 palliatives to be distributed to the poor not within the state.

 

The Commandant stated that the NSCDC intelligence report had it that some folks had been within the behavior of breaking into the federal government secretariat’s warehouse to loot gadgets.

 

“Our effort yielded end result yesterday (Wednesday) round 21:00hrs, the suspects had been arrested loading the gadgets which might be meant for the folks within the state.
