Authorized Luminary, Afe Babalola (SAN), has described the mass closure of Nigerian universities by the federal authorities owing to the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic as unconstitutional.

The founding father of Afe Babalola College expressed this view in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday at a press convention concerning the try by the federal authorities to defer the resumption of universities earlier slated for January 18.

He expressed that such motion would transform counterproductive and disastrous to the training sector, particularly closing down of personal colleges with out prior session.

The Authorized Icon mentioned: “I’m of the agency view that mass closure of faculties is unconstitutional, disastrous and counter-productive.

“It’s definitely unjust to the dad and mom, lecturers, college students and Proprietors of faculties and likewise violates the rule of pure justice,” he said.

He additional described such situation to be at variance with what’s obtainable within the developed world.

This response is coming few days after Minister of Training, Adamu Adamu, said that the January 18, earlier set by the federal authorities for colleges resumption could be reviewed.
