Man allegedly shot while trying to rescue kidnapped Ogun community leader

Gunmen has kidnapped a group chief at Imope -Ijebu, in Ijebu North Native Authorities Space of Ogun State, Chief Tajudeen Omotayo. 

 

Omotayo, popularly referred to as Oba Alade Meta, was kidnapped by the gunmen at Oke-eri space of the city, whereas getting back from a visit to Ijebu-Ode on Saturday, March 20.

It was gathered that the gunmen accosted the sufferer at about 3pm and whisked him away, leaving his automotive on the highway. 

 

In accordance with one Kehinde Ola, a Benin Republic nationwide was shot by the gunmen whereas making an attempt to rescue the group chief.

Spokesperson of the command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident, stated that operatives of the Anti-kidnapping unit, Space Commander and DPOs have launched a manhunt for the suspected abductors in the direction of rescuing the group chief.

 

“We had the report {that a} group chief was kidnapped at Imope. We’re working in the direction of guaranteeing his launch in no distant time,” stated Oyeyemi.
