Hijab Controversy: Kwara Govt Finally Reopens Schools

Kwara State authorities has ordered the reopening of 10 colleges in Ilorin shut final month over the usage of hijab by Muslim female faculty college students.

The Eternal Secretary, Ministry of Coaching and Human Capital Enchancment, Mrs Mary Kemi Adeosun, launched this in a press launch in Ilorin on Tuesday night.

Mrs Adeosun acknowledged the schools would reopen on Wednesday, March 17.

“The federal authorities is glad that its protection to allow eager Muslim schoolgirls to placed on their hijab (face masking) in public faculties will end in sustainable peace and communal harmony anchored on mutual respect and understanding.

“This path to mutual respect, understanding, and peace as regards to hijaab had prolonged been adopted in all of the northern Nigeria and loads of states inside the Southwest akin to Lagos, Osun, Ekiti, and the Oyo States.

“As the students resume common programs, the federal authorities took specific uncover of the plight of those of them preparing for the West African Senior School Certificates Examination and hereby directs affected faculties to hold at least two-hour extra lesson for all the intending candidates after school hours every single day.”
