Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Affiliation, Onitsha department, Barrister Francis Onwuachi, has been killed by his abductors. 

Onwuachi, President Common of Omor, a neighborhood in Ayamelum Native Authorities Space, was kidnapped was kidnapped alongside Ezu River/Anaku street on Friday, March 12, whereas on his solution to his city by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen. 

In response to a THISDAY report, the lawyer, who was the Vice President of the College of Nigeria Alumni Affiliation (UNAA), Onitsha department, was discovered useless on Friday night time, March 19.  

In the meantime, the Committee of Chairmen and Secretaries of the Nigerian Bar Affiliation Branches in Anambra State has bemoaned what it described because the worsening safety scenario within the state.

In a in an announcement signed by all of the chairmen and secretaries of the varied branches, the affiliation mentioned there may be pressure Anambra state. The assertion learn; 

The Committee of Chairmen and Secretaries of the Nigerian Bar Affiliation Branches in Anambra State bemoans the worsening safety scenario in Anambra State and calls on the Federal Authorities, Anambra State Authorities and heads of Safety businesses to get up and be alive to their obligations of defending lives and properties of the residents.


The Committee notes that the safety scenario in Anambra State is extremely tensed up and horrifying to say the least. 


Not too long ago, there was instances of kidnap and ugly homicide/killing of harmless residents and safety personnels within the State and nothing is being achieved to curb this horrifying safety challenges within the State. 


Simply final week Friday, 12/3/2021, a Lawyer, Bar Frank Onwuachi, who can be the President Common of Omor in Ayamelum LGA of Anambra State was kidnapped alongside Ezu River/Anaku street and gruesomely murdered the next day by his captors.


Yesterday, 19/3/2021, two Jail Officers had been killed at Ekwulobia, Aguata LGA and that is barely 24 hours after Naval officers and policemen had been killed at Awkuzu and Neni respectively. Additionally, a Naval Outpost near Bridgehead was attacked generally final week ensuing to the killings of some Naval officers and their weapons carted away.


The Committee urgently calls on the State Authorities to as a matter of urgency summon a gathering of varied Safety businesses within the State to handle this worrisome safety conditions and sort out it headlong. Failure by the State Authorities to behave instantly might result in a descent to anarchy.


All of us can not proceed to downplay the Safety scenario or faux that every one is properly. The time to behave is now. 


The Committee condoles with the NBA Otuocha Department, the households of late Bar Frank Onwuachi and all safety males killed by unknown gun males and prays that their souls relaxation in peace. 


The Committee consequently resolves as follows;


1. That each one legal professionals in Anambra State shall boycott all courts from Monday, 22/3/2021 to Wednesday, 24/3/2021.


2. That each one legal professionals in Anambra State ought to converge on the Judiciary Headquarters, Awka on Monday, 22/3/2021 by 12 midday for onward motion to the Authorities Home, Awka to specific our dissatisfaction with the present safety scenario in Anambra State.


3. Chairmen of Bar Branches in Anambra State are requested to sensitize their members and numerous Court docket heads to make sure compliance with the above directives.
