Governor Fayemi pays N507.4m to victims of police brutality and land owners

The Ekiti state Authorities which had earlier introduced that it is going to be compensating victims of police brutality in step with the advice made by judicial panel of inquiry dealing with circumstances of human rights abuses by the disbanded Particular- Anti Theft Squad (SARS), has fulfilled its promise. 

 

Governor Kayode Fayemi on Monday March 15, introduced Cheques value N507.Four million to victims of human rights violations and people whose lands had been acquired for the constructing of the worldwide cargo airport within the state.

 

Victims of police brutality had been paid the sum of N7.Four million whereas 700 farmers, whose lands had been acquired for the development of the airport received the sum of N500 million.

 

Fayemi who promised that his authorities would perform legislation reforms, coverage modifications and institutional strengthening that may struggle crime in Ekiti and guarantee justice for all, added that his authorities determined to not watch for six months expiration given the judicial panel of inquiry earlier than commencing the cost. He stated;
