The purpose of the personal statement is to give you an opportunity to tell those important things about yourself that are not addressed or apparent in the application. In making decisions about scholarships, personal attributes are considered and gain some sense of who you are.
Knowledge about your experiences, accomplishments and a variety of qualities such as motivation, self-discipline, leadership, commitment to others, your intended field of study, and your career goals as well as your academic record are all considered.
Award Notification Process
The awarding of individual scholarships begins after the posted deadline has passed. Applicants are implored to always monitor their Fresno state email to see if they have been awarded a scholarship.
A congratulatory message is sent to the lucky recipient of the scholarship. In the mail that will be sent, an instruction is passed for them to log in to their scholarship application to view the details of the award. Not every applicant gets this mail only those who are the recipient of the award.
