A 38-year-old girl, Ruka Tayo and her good friend, Jimoh Abiola, 35, had been arraigned earlier than an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Courtroom on Friday, March 12, for beating up her former husband’s new spouse.
Tayo and her co-defendant allegedly beat up the complainant on the residence of her former husband in Ikorodu, 5 years after their divorce.
The 2 defendants are standing trial on a two-count cost bordering on conspiracy to commit an offence and assault. They, nevertheless, pleaded not responsible to the two-count cost.
The Prosecutor, ASP Gbemileke Agoi, advised the courtroom that the defendants dedicated the offences on Feb. 26 at about 4:p.m at Street 7, Mowowole Property, Oreta Igbogbo space of Ikorodu.
Agoi alleged that the defendants conspired collectively and beat up the complainant, one Mrs Adeyemi Morenikeji, at her husband’s residence as a result of she married the previous husband of one of many defendants.
Based on him, the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 412 and 172 of Legal Regulation of Lagos, 2015.
The Justice of the Peace, Mrs R. A. Onilogbo, admitted the defendants to bail within the sum of N50,000 every, with two sureties every in like sum.
