Catholic Church cannot bless same-sex unions - Vatican

The Vatican on Monday, March 15, said that monks and different Catholic Church ministers can’t bless same-sex unions and that such blessings are “not licit” if carried out.


The Vatican’s doctrinal workplace, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Religion (CDF), issued the ruling in response to questions and strikes in some parishes to impart such blessings as an indication of welcome to homosexual Catholics for the reason that Church doesn’t allow gay marriage.


Pope Francis accepted the response, the CDF mentioned, including that it was “not supposed to be a type of unjust discrimination, however quite a reminder of the reality of the liturgical ceremony”.

The CDF be aware mentioned that since marriage between a person and a lady was a sacrament and blessings are associated to the sacrament of marriage, they may not be prolonged to same-sex {couples}.
