Mrs Kukase Garba, Chairwoman of Vandekiya Native Authorities Council of Benue state has been suspended for 3 months by the state meeting over alleged gross misconduct, abuse of workplace and working of the native authorities as sole-administrator.
The discover of suspension was conveyed in a letter despatched to the meeting by the State Governor by means of the speaker of the Home.
Within the letter signed by the Secretary to the State Authorities on behalf of the Governor, It was said that the suspension of Kukase was in keeping with the Benue State Native Authorities Institution Legislation, 2007.
“The Government Governor of Benue State is in receipt of a letter dated 11th March 2021 from the Vandeikya Legislative Council, Benue State, drawing consideration to a vote of no confidence handed on the Government Chairman.
“The allegations made by the Legislative Council in opposition to the chairman, Hon. Mrs Kukase Garba, are as follows: Failure to tell the Legislative Council of the month-to-month revenue and expenditure of the Native Authorities in violation of part 58(b) and 87(3) of the Native Authorities Institution Legislation 2007.
“Misappropriation of public funds; failure to current Price range Estimates to the Native Authorities Legislative Council; abuse of Government energy as she runs the affairs of the Native Authorities Legislative Council as a sole Administrator.”
The suspension was effected after being supported by majority of the lawmakers.
